The Jefferson Community Foundation provides donors who are committed to the greater Jefferson area with the following benefits:
A gift to the Foundation benefits many groups and projects in the community.
The Foundation is a public charity under Federal Tax Law and tax exempt under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. Gifts qualify for maximum deductibility for income and estate tax purposes.
Gifts grow through wise investment over the years to provide continuing benefits for our community. Generally, only the earnings of a fund are used for grants or scholarships so that the fund balance is never depleted.
The Foundation assets are managed professionally by local financial institutions with a responsible investment policy. The Foundation board is responsible for careful stewardship.
Annual disclosure of Foundation activities and careful selection of board members assure that funds are used judiciously and serve the public interest.
